Two Separate Weekend Robberies Result In New Haven Teen's Arrest, Ongoing Investigation: NHPD

Two Good Friday night robberies, one of a Fair Haven business, the other of a food delivery driver, are under investigation by police.

NEW HAVEN, CT — Two Good Friday robberies are under investigation by police.

Just before 10 p.m. Friday, two armed males clothed in all black and wearing black masks robbed a Grand Avenue business, police said on "X."

Police were called to Street Heat Boutique, 229 Grand Ave., by an employee who reported that both men displayed firearms, took a small round of cash, and then fled on foot.

Two hours later, just before midnight Friday, a food service driver making a delivery on Huntington Avenue reported he was approached by "two Hispanic males who threatened to kill him unless he gave them the keys to his moped."

The pair fled into a nearby house, police said.

Officers arrived and were able to detain one of the males, 17, of New Haven, police noted.

The teen was taken into custody and charged with second-degree robbery and second-degree threatening.

Police said officers are "continuing to investigate the identity of the second male."
