NEW HAVEN, CONN. (Nov. 30, 2021)–The Veterans of Foreign Wars of the United States New Haven Post 12150 Incorporated has announced their 2021-22 Youth & Education contest winners and one student has already advanced to state-wide competition.

High School Senior Anne Brasseaux of The Sound School Regional Vocational Aquaculture Center in New Haven, Connecticut won the post-level and the VFW Connecticut District 2 level Voice of Democracy audio-essay contests on, “America: Where Do We Go From Here?" The two-time post winner now advances to the state-wide, VFW Department of Connecticut level where she competes for the opportunity to travel to Washington DC and a chance to win a $30,000 college scholarship.

Thomas F. McCormack of Wilton took first place in the post Patriot’s Pen essay contest on “How Can I Be a Good American?"
