Victims ID'd In New Haven Boating Crash

A man died after his boat hit an object, according to officials.

NEW HAVEN, CT — Police have identified the victims of the Saturday boating crash in New Haven Harbor. Joseph Regan, 43, of Milford, died, and Robert Ross, 47 of Guilford was injured.

Regan, a West Haven native, was operating his 24-foot Seaswirl vessel accompanied by Ross Saturday night when the boat hit an object. Both men were ejected from the vessel, according to the Connecticut Department of Energy and Envrionmental Protection.

Ross made it back to the boat and radioed for help. Both were taken to the hospital, and Regan was pronounced dead.
