After the State's Attorney reviewed the case, he was later charged with numerous felonies including two B felony charges of first-degree assault, "under circumstances evincing an extreme indifference to human life he recklessly engages in conduct which creates a risk of death to another person, and thereby causes serious physical injury to another person."
He's been held since 2019 on a $500,000 bond.
The New Haven Register reported on the details in a police incident report.
The graphic footage shows Salvati used force to prevent Freytes-Rivera from potentially assaulting him with shards of glass, Dell said.
That led to the incident being reviewed by Police Chief Jacobson, Internal Affairs, and the Civilian Review Board.
