Weekend Stabbing On Ashmun Street Sees 1 Wounded, 1 Charged With Assault: NHPD

NEW HAVEN, CT — A 39-year-old New Haven man is charged with assault after police said he stabbed another man on Ashmun Street this weekend.
In a news release posted to social media, police said it was just before 5 p.m. Saturday when officers were summoned to the 300 block of Ashmun for a "weapons complaint."
Police said the stabbing was a result of a dispute between Bernard Goutier and a 22-year-old New Haven man.

The victim suffered a non-life-threatening stab wound and was taken to Yale New Haven Hospital for treatment.
Goutier was charged with second-degree assault and held on $150,000 bond, police said.
