Yale Doctor Fined $10k: Report

He was fined after not answering calls from a patient for days, according to a consent order.

NEW HAVEN, CT — A Yale New Haven Hospital doctor was fined $10,000 by the state Medical Examining Board.

Dr. Rey Ramos of Orange was fined Tuesday and reprimanded. He didn't answer the calls of a patient who was experiencing severe withdrawal symptoms, according to the Connecticut Health Investigation Team.

His patient wrote to the board and urged the board to revoke his license. Ramos also had his medical license placed on probation for two years and is banned from prescribing buprenorphine.

Ramos agreed to the punishment and admitted no wrongdoing in a consent order.
