NEW HAVEN, CT — A Yale New Haven doctor was a winner for a special MTV Music Award give to first responders Sunday night, The Connecticut Post reported. Dr. Nate Wood was one of five nominees in “Everyday Hero: Frontline Medial Workers’ VMA.”

Wood is a resident physician in his second year at the hospital's Internal Medicine/Primary Care Residency Program. His rendition of "Lean on Me" went viral in April.

Wood told Connecticut Magazine that he recorded the song after his first patient arrived in ICU due to the pandemic.
