7-Eleven Store Robbed In Newington

NEWINGTON, CT — Local police are investigating a late-night robbery at a 7-Eleven store and they're seeking the public's help in catching the suspect.

According to the Newington Police Department Thursday morning, the incident started at about 11:03 p.m. Wednesday when officers responded to a robbery at the store, located at 461 New Britain Ave.

Police said officers determined a male suspect dressed in a black-hooded sweatshirt, dark-colored pants, white sneakers and a black face-covering entered the store.

While in the store, the male suspect jumped over the counter while displaying a firearm and pointed it at the clerk, police said.

The NPD said the suspect removed an undetermined amount of cash from the register and left the store, fleeing in a white-colored Jeep Grand Cherokee.

No injuries were reported as a result of the incident.
