Newington Postpones Final Day Of Annual Celebration

NEWINGTON, CT— The Town of Newington has postponed the final day of its annual 'Life. Be In It. Extravaganza,' including the much-anticipated fireworks show, because of the weather forecast.

The event, originally scheduled for Saturday, July 18, will now take place on Sunday, July 19, from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. at Mill Pond Park, 123 Garfield St.

The schedule change affects the final day of the four-day community festival, which features carnival rides, live music, food vendors, family activities, and a fireworks display.

According to the event schedule, Sunday's activities will include:

• Carnival rides from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.
• Craft fair and corporate row from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
• Food truck festival beginning at 10 a.m.
• Beer and wine garden from noon to 9:30 p.m.
• Community bike drawing at 8 p.m.
• Live performances by Vinyl Countdown from noon to 2:30 p.m., Measured Soul from 3 to 5:15 p.m., and Shaded Soul from 6 to 9:15 p.m.
• A fireworks show at 9:30 p.m.

The Life. Be In It. Extravaganza began Wednesday, July 15, and continues through the weekend with carnival rides, entertainment, and family-friendly activities at Mill Pond Park.

Town officials reminded attendees that outside alcohol is not permitted in the park.
