NEWINGTON, CT — Newington native and television personality Alex P. Taylor will return to his hometown this weekend to celebrate the release of his new cookbook with a signing, cooking demonstration and free samples.
Taylor, billed as Connecticut's "Nacho King," will appear at the Newington Stew Leonard's, 3475 Berlin Turnpike, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 12.
The event will celebrate Taylor's nationally published cookbook, "Totally Nachrageous: Next-Level Nacho Recipes for Parties, Game Days & Crowd-Pleasing Fun."
Taylor is known to Connecticut television audiences through appearances on WFSB's Great Day Connecticut and FOX61 and has also appeared nationally on Bravo's Below Deck.
The hardcover cookbook features more than 70 recipes, ranging from game-day dishes to dessert nachos, along with stories behind the recipes.
During Saturday's event, Stew Leonard's chefs will demonstrate Taylor's Firecracker Shrimp Nachos recipe, made with shrimp, tortilla chips, pepper jack cheese, pico de gallo, and jalapeños. Free samples will be offered.
Taylor will also meet attendees and sign and personalize copies of the cookbook.
Stew Leonard's will sell the book for a special event price of $21.99.
The event will also include a guided look through the 1980s-inspired cookbook and its collection of recipes.
