According to the listing, it has a fully upgraded kitchen, fresh paint and hardwood floors throughout, plus a sun room overlooking the property. The listing calls the lot, just under half an acre, "a true highlight," with space for gardening and outdoor entertaining. The three-bedroom, 2.5-bath home has 2,046 square feet, counting a partially finished basement, and an attached two-car garage.
55 Sequin Street, noon to 2 p.m., $475,000: This 1957 Colonial sits in what its listing calls a quiet, tree-lined neighborhood. It has hardwood floors throughout, and the large living room has a fireplace and built-ins. The updated eat-in kitchen has shaker-style cabinets, granite countertops and stainless steel appliances, and there's a mudroom just off it. The listing says a home office or sixth bedroom could go on either floor. It also cites a newer heating system, central air and newer windows and roof. The five-bedroom, two-bath home has 1,990 square feet, a patio, an unfinished basement and a detached two-car garage.
Make a morning of it: The two open houses overlap from noon to 1 p.m. Start at Wakeley Road when it opens at 11 a.m. to take your time in the sun room and walk the yard. Then head to Sequin Street, which opens at noon and stays open until 2 p.m. The prices are $75,000 apart, and you'll be comparing a new-to-market Cape on a big lot with a five-bedroom Colonial that has room for a home office.
