Area Teams Clinch Baseball, Softball State Tournament Berths
More than 50 teams from Hartford and Tolland counties have already qualified for postseason play.

With a week and a half still remaining in the regular season, more than 50 high school baseball and softball teams from area schools have already clinched berths in the upcoming state tournaments.
The CIAC admits any team which wins at least 40 percent of its games into its tournaments, meaning eight victories are needed over the course of a 20-game regular schedule. Through games of Friday, May 12, there have been 29 baseball and 23 softball teams based in Hartford and Tolland counties which have already surpassed the minimum victory total.
Many more teams may qualify, with some schools having up to seven more games left, but to date, here are the area teams which have qualified. Click the class headers for full current rankings of all teams statewide.
