Bird In Newington Police Custody A Flight Risk
The Newington Police Department is looking for the owner of a lost parakeet that has been in police custody since Aug. 11.

NEWINGTON, CT — The latest individual inside of a cage at the Newington Police Department is definitely a flight risk.
Which is why he or she is behind bars — albeit very tiny ones.
The NPD, located at 300 Garfield St., reported Monday afternoon that it is in possession of an abandoned parakeet and its asking anyone who might know where it came from to help them out.

The mostly white feathered creature appears, otherwise, fine, though it probably is hoping for more familiar surroundings.
It has been with the NPD since last Friday, Aug. 11.

Anyone with information on the parakeet is asked to call the Newington Police Department's Animal Control Division at 860-594-6250.
