Bullet Shot Into Child's Bed Wednesday Night

Newington police are investigating a report of a bullet going into 9-year-old's bedroom late Wednesday night and through the child's bed.

NEWINGTON, CT — A 9-year-old child is lucky to be alive after a bullet was shot into his bedroom and struck the child's bedframe at about 11 p.m. Wednesday night.

According to the Newington Police Department statement issued Thursday afternoon, officers are investigating the incident, in which no one was, ultimately, hurt.

Police said the shooting happened on John Street in town, with a preliminary investigating revealing a bullet was shot into a residence there.

That bullet then entered into the child's bedroom and, actually, travelled through the 9-year-old's bedframe.

Newington police are asking that anyone with information on the shooting call the Newington Police Department at 860-666-8445.
