Campus Notes - Newington College Students

NEWINGTON, CT — Here are some recent notable accomplishments by local college students, as provided by readMedia Newswire.

Eastern Connecticut State University, Willimantic CT

• A cohort of high-achieving psychology students from Eastern Connecticut State University were honored at the annual Psychology Honors Night and Psi Chi Induction Ceremony on April 23. Among the students recognized was Blake Mamaclay of Newington, who majors in Psychology. Mamaclay was inducted into Psi Chi. Psi Chi is the international honor society for the field of psychology. Eastern students who are inducted into Psi Chi must attain a 3.5 GPA in psychology and a 3.0 GPA overall.
• Eastern Connecticut State University recognized the academic achievements of African, Latino, Asian and Native American students on May 5 during its sixth annual Inclusive Excellence Awards ceremony. Award were given out and more than 200 students were recognized for achieving GPAs of 3.5 or higher.
  Among the students recognized from Newington were: Blake Mamaclay, who was given the Academic Achievement Award. Mamaclay majors in Psychology; Marlene Suarez, who was given the Academic Achievement Award. Suarez majors in Sociology and Criminology; and Kimberly Tallard, who was given the Academic Achievement Award. Tallard majors in Communication.

Fairleigh Dickinson University, Madison NJ

• Tyler Pulcini of Newington, a student at Fairleigh Dickinson University's Florham Campus, located in Madison, NJ has been named to the Honors List for the fall 2017 semester. To qualify for the Honors List, a student must carry a 3.5 or better grade point average out of a possible 4.0 and be enrolled in a minimum of 12 letter-graded hours (four courses).
