Assumption College, Worcester MA

  • Frank Bruno, of Newington, was one of 653 graduates to receive a degree during Assumption College's 100th Commencement exercises on Sunday, May 14, held at the DCU Center in downtown Worcester, MA, in which speaker John L. Allen, Jr., editor of Crux, a publication that focuses on news of the Vatican and Catholic Church, delivered the Commencement address. Bruno received a Bachelor of Arts degree.

  • At its Commencement ceremony on May 6, 2017, Becker College honored 464 candidates for graduation from undergraduate and graduate degree programs and the Accelerated Studies program. Newington graduates are Benjamin Page, with a Bachelor of Arts in Interactive Media Design, and Sean Harlow, with a Bachelor of Arts in Interactive Media Design Cum Laude.

Champlain College, Burlington VT

  • Jamie Zelek of Newington has been named to the Champlain College Dean's List for the spring 2017 semester. Students on the Dean's List have achieved a grade point average of 3.5 or higher during the semester. Zelek is majoring in Early Childhood/Elementary Education.

  • Andrew M. Mccarter of Newington graduated from Clemson University with a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science. Mccarter was among more than 3,400 students who received degrees in the four May 11 and 12 commencement ceremonies at Littlejohn Coliseum.

Eastern Connecticut State University, Willimantic CT

  • Eastern Connecticut State University's annual graduation ceremony was held at the XL Center in Hartford on May 16, with more than 12,000 family members and friends cheering on their sons and daughters, brothers and sisters, as 1,180 undergraduates and 58 graduate students received their diplomas. Graduates from Newington were Tyler Aldieri, Bachelor of Science in Sport and Leisure Management; Hannah Barrett, Bachelor of Arts in English; Kelly Bobbitt, Bachelor of Science in Psychology; Stephen Cowell, Bachelor of Arts in History; Benjamin Estey, Bachelor of Science in Communication; Madison Forsander of Newington, CT, graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Arts in English. Nicole Fretz, Bachelor of Science in Finance; Casey Gagnon, Bachelor of Science in Communication; Tia Massa, Bachelor of Science in Psychology; Daniella Pappalardo, Bachelor of General Studies in Sociology; and Nicole Rivera, Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Arts in Theatre.

Keene State College, Keene NH

  • 1,245 students have been named to the spring 2017 dean's list at Keene State College, including Kayla Carta and Jeffrey Rossman of Newington.

State University of New York at Potsdam, Potsdam NY

  • The State University of New York at Potsdam recognized more than 1,000 candidates for graduation during the college's 2017 commencement ceremony on Saturday, May 20. The graduating Class of 2017 were awarded their baccalaureate and master's degrees during the ceremony. Tatiana Gotowala of Newington graduated from SUNY Potsdam with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Politics.
