NEWINGTON, CT — Here are some recent notable achievements for college students from Newington, as reported by readMedia Newswire.

Eastern Connecticut State University, Willimantic CT

• Nine business students from Eastern Connecticut State University traveled to Spain this past May to study international business in the European Union. Students stayed in Barcelona and Madrid, and toured businesses and participated in lectures about the history and state of the regional economy. Among the travelers was Nicholas Capone of Newington, who majors in Exploratory Professional Studies.

Roger Williams University, Bristol RI

• Four students from Newington have been named to the spring 2017 Dean's List at Roger Williams University in Bristol, R.I.: Kayla LaRosa, Shelby Payanis, Kirsten Valade and Megan Willgoos. Full-time students who complete 12 or more credits per semester and earn a GPA of 3.4 or higher are placed on the Dean's List that semester.

Western New England University, Springfield MA

• Jordan Massini, of Newington, has been named to the President's List at Western New England University for the spring semester 2017. Massini is working toward a degree in Exploratory. Students are named to the President's List for achieving a semester grade point average of 3.80 or higher.
• Western New England University congratulates more than 700 students named to the spring semester 2017 Dean's List. The following students from Newington were named to the Dean's List for achieving a semester grade point average of 3.30 or higher: Amanda Gagnon, majoring in Accounting; Andrew Deguzis, majoring in Actuarial Science; Danielle Chylinski, majoring in Communication - Public Relations; Matthew Bollacker, majoring in Criminal Justice; and Marissa Veilleux, majoring in Criminal Justice.
