College Student from Newington Receives Award

NEWINGTON, CT — A college student from Newington has received a prestigious award from Western New England University in Springfield, Mass.

Danielle Chylinski, a Communication-Public Relations major, was among 14 students honored with the 2016 Skookum Award from the WNEU Alumni Association.

Students receiving this award have demonstrated excellence in academics, co-curricular activities, athletics, volunteer work, and community service.

The word "Skookum" in the Chinook language means "excellence."

This year's award recipients come from diverse backgrounds and were nominated by faculty, staff, and coaches.
