Pizza Chain Plans Newington Restaurant
The Berlin Turnpike location will seat more than 175 people and include Colony Grill's first fully private dining room.
NEWINGTON, CT — Colony Grill is coming to the Berlin Turnpike with its largest Hartford County expansion yet.
The Connecticut-based pizza chain announced Monday that it plans to open a restaurant at 3260 Berlin Turnpike in 2027.
The Newington location will seat more than 175 people and feature a large outdoor patio, a full bar with 12 taps and several televisions. It will also have Colony Grill’s first fully private dining room.

The private room is intended for birthday parties, team dinners, corporate events and other group gatherings.
“The private dining room gives us a dedicated space to host milestone celebrations, corporate outings and group dinners while delivering the same great pizza and hospitality that define the Colony Grill experience,” Chief Operating Officer and co-owner Ken Martin said.

Colony Grill opened in Stamford in 1935 and is best known for its thin-crust bar pizza, particularly pies topped with its signature hot oil.
The company currently operates nine restaurants in Connecticut, New York, Virginia and Florida. Its Connecticut locations include Stamford, Fairfield, Milford, Norwalk and Shelton.
The Newington restaurant is part of a larger expansion into Hartford County. Colony Grill is also preparing to open in Glastonbury and announced plans Monday for another location at 255 Gateway Blvd. in South Windsor.
Both the Newington and South Windsor restaurants are expected to open sometime in 2027. The company has not announced more specific opening dates.
