Connecticut Insurance Exchange “Blue Jean Fridays” Fund Celebrates Our Officers in Blue
In the spirit of thanksgiving, the staff at Connecticut Insurance Exchange gave each Newington Police officer a breakfast gift card.

In the spirit of thanksgiving, the staff at Connecticut Insurance Exchange gave each Newington Police officer a breakfast gift card. Funds for the gift cards came from Connecticut Insurance Exchange’s “Blue Jean Fridays Fund,” which began in 2006 as a fundraiser for charities. Office Manager Jackie Martin explains, “As part of dress-down Fridays, any employee who chooses to wear blue jeans that day is encouraged to make a contribution to the fund. When it reaches a certain amount, the staff gets together to decide on a worthy cause.”
Connecticut Insurance Exchange’s Blue Jean Fridays Fund has given over $8,700 to local and national charities, including Make a Wish Foundation, local little leagues, Hartford City Mission, National Ovarian Cancer Coalition, The Independence Fund, Food Share Walk Against Hunger, St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, The Little Guild of Saint Francis, Hole in the Wall Gang and many, many more.
Over its 40-year history, Connecticut Insurance Exchange has given more than $100,000 to charity. “As an insurance agency, we are in the business of helping people become whole again. Charity is a natural extension of our philosophy,” added Melanie Tregoning, Vice President of Connecticut Insurance Exchange. “It is our honor to give back to the community.”
