Convenience Store Robbed in Newington

NEWINGTON, CT — A man with a handgun robbed the 7-Eleven store at 461 New Britain Avenue Thursday morning.

The man entered the store around 5:35 a.m. and demanded cash from the clerk, then fled on foot. The clerk was not injured, police said.

Police described the man as medium-sized, wearing a black hoodie, dark mask, gloves, blue jeans and sneakers.

A Connecticut State Police canine unit assisted with a search of the area, but the suspect was not located.
