Emmanuel “Manny” Sanchez Receives Unanimous Nomination for the 24th State Representative District
New Britain, CT: On Monday, Emmanuel “Manny” Sanchez was endorsed at the convention for the 24th state representative district which includes parts of New Britain and Newington. He was unanimously endorsed by the 12 delegates eligible to vote. He was nominated by Violet Sims and seconded by Rosemary Klotz.

“It’s truly an honor and a pleasure to be nominated to serve the 24th district,” Sanchez stated. “I’ve had the pleasure of serving on the city council here in New Britain for a decade and have been speaking more and more with folks in Newington about the issues that matter most to them. In these times of struggle it is clear that access to healthcare, stronger economic protections for small business owners and workers, and support for our seniors has never been more important. This district needs a representative who will stand up and fight for working and middle class families and I plan to do exactly that when elected.”
Manny was nominated by Board of Education member Violet Sims. “I have known Manny to be a listener, to ask questions, and really try to learn about constituents before making a decision,” Sims stated. “Listening to understand is a skill lacking in many in politics currently, and something Manny has done extremely well in my experience.”

Sanchez currently serves as Minority Leader on the New Britain City Council. In 2019, he was the highest vote getter on the council when he ran city-wide for the second straight cycle. Sanchez has also volunteered extensively in the community, including coaching youth basketball at the YMCA, handing out food with Foodshare, neighborhood cleanups, and working with the Neighborhood Revitalization Zone (NRZ). In his professional career, Sanchez works as a Development Officer for the University of Hartford. He received his Bachelors from UCONN.
