• Twenty students at Eastern Connecticut State University are serving as student orientation counselors (SOCs) for the university's summer orientation program for incoming students. The SOAR program-Student Orientation, Advising and Registration-is designed to introduce new students to life at Eastern and provide academic advising before the start of the fall semester. Among the SOCs is Cheyenne Fletcher of Newington, who majors in Biology. SOCs serve as guides and mentors as they lead groups of incoming students through informational sessions and social events.

• Siena College has named Gabriella Capossela, Peter Galante and Monica Owczarska of Newington to the Dean's List for the spring 2017 semester. To be named to the Dean's List, a student's grade point average for the semester must be between 3.5 and 3.89.

Tunxis Community College, Farmington CT

• Tunxis Community College in Farmington has announced the names of those students who have qualified for the Dean’s List for the spring 2017 semester.
