Siena College, Loudonville NY
- Sunday, May 14 saw 799 Siena Saints become alumni at the 2017 Commencement ceremonies at the Times Union Center in Albany. The graduating class represented 31 undergraduate majors and one graduate major, and more than 80 minors and certificate programs. Graduates from Newington were Gabriella Capossela and Monica Owczarska.
University of Rhode Island, Kingston RI

- The University of Rhode Island is pleased to announce that more than 5,290 undergraduates have qualified for the spring 2017 Dean's List. The students represent nearly all of Rhode Island's cities and towns, all six New England states, New York and New Jersey, many other states and countries.
Newington students named to the Dean's List are Kirsten Ashley Richmond, Kyle Alexander Pierson, Shaylynn Anne Frazon, Mariah T Mendes, Samuel W Lostocco and Victoria E Ruskys. To be included on the Dean's List, full-time students must have completed 12 or more credits for letter grades during a semester and achieved at least a 3.30 quality point average. Part-time students qualify with the accumulation of 12 or more credits for letter grades earning at least a 3.30 quality point average.
Western New England University, Springfield MA
- Western New England University's Undergraduate Commencement was held on Saturday, May 20, in the Alumni Healthful Living Center on the University campus. Approximately 600 students received degrees and several ROTC Cadets were commissioned as officers. Graduates from Newington were Matthew A. Bollacker, cum laude with a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice, and Danielle L. Chylinski, cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts in Communication - Public Relations.
