New Britain Man Sentenced For Possessing Child Sexual Abuse Images

NEW BRITAIN, CT — A New Britain man was sentenced Wednesday to two years in prison followed by five years of supervised release for posessing videos depicting the sexual abuse of children, according to officials.
Luis A. Rosado, 31, was caught in 2022 after the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children received two tips that Rosado had used two separate Kik messenger accounts to upload and distribute the images between April and June, the U.S. Attorney's Office, District of Connecticut said, citing court documents and statements.
Some of these images depicted prepubescent children, according to officials.

Rosado, who lived in Manchester at the time of the offense, was arrested Oct. 6, 2022. On February 5, 2024, he pleaded guilty to possession of child pornography.
He has been released on a $100,000 bond and is required to report to prison on December 4.
