Newington Animal Control Investigates Shot Opossum

A opossum was shot several times in the head.

NEWINGTON, CT — Animal Control is investigating after a opossum was found shot several times in the head with a BB gun, NBC CT reported. The animal was found Wednesday on Dix Avenue and is fighting through recovery.

"He was intentionally shot several times in the head with a pellet gun, and is suffering due to the injuries," Animal Control wrote on Facebook. "Most of the pellets have been removed, he has been cleaned up, and he is in good hands now."
