Newington Boys Qualify for State Track Meet

NEWINGTON, CT — Several members of the Newington High School boys indoor track team have posted numbers good enough to qualify for state competition later this winter.

The Class L meet will be held Feb. 11 at the Floyd Little Athletic Center in New Haven. The State Open will also take place there on Feb. 18.

Indians who have already qualified for the class meet are:

• 55 meters - Carlum Caldwell, 6.77
• 300 meters - David Winslow, 39.70
• 1,000 meters - Shamar Murray, 2:48.20
• 1,600 meters - Thomas Doyle, 4:37.00
• 3,200 meters - Thomas Doyle, 10:23.69
• long jump - Greston Walwyn, 19-6
• 4 x 200 relay, 1:45.00
• 4 x 800 relay, 9:09.24
• sprint medley, 3:55.85
