Newington Closes Town Government Offices To Public
The town announced it will close government offices to the public in response to rising COVID-19 infection rates.
NEWINGTON, CT — Newington has closed all town government buildings to the public in response to rising COVID-19 infection rates.
The following statement appeared on the town's website: As of December 6, 2021, the Town of Newington will move to Phase I/Red.
The following policies will be in place for all Town buildings, effective Monday, December 6, 2021.

- All Town buildings will be CLOSED to the public – all services will be provided remotely, online, curbside, etc. Any in-person programming or services should be done outdoors (masks suggested, social distancing required). - Covid-19 Screenings: In the event someone from the public has to enter any town facility, they will be asked COVID screening questions before they are permitted to enter the facility.
- Masks Required for all, regardless of vaccination status.
