Newington To Hold Public Input Session On Town Manager Search

NEWINGTON, CT — Newington will hold a public input session Sept. 29 as the town works to hire a permanent town manager.

The session is scheduled for 6 to 7 p.m. in the Town Council Chambers, Room 103, at Town Hall, 200 Garfield St., according to the town notice.

The session will provide residents a structured opportunity to share opinions about the town manager position. Senior and Disabled Center Director Jaime Trevethan will facilitate the session.

The town said the meeting will include an introduction and brief overview of the town manager’s duties. Participants will be asked questions about the qualities, characteristics, skills and experience they want in a Newington town manager.

Residents will also have the opportunity to collaborate with other participants, if they choose, and share individual opinions in what the town described as a low-pressure environment.

The town said information gathered during and after the session will be forwarded to the Town Council for review and consideration as part of the hiring process.

The session will be held in person only because of its format, according to the notice.
