Newington Motel Arsonist Arrested: PD
The man lit a fire intentionally while other guests occupied the motel, police said.

NEWINGTON, CT — Detectives arrested a man who is accused of intentionally lighting a fire at the Grantmoor Motor Lodge on the Berlin Turnpike, according to police.
Guillermo Serrano, 27, of Manchester lit the fire Feb. 13 while other guests occupied rooms in the motel, police said in a statement.
Serrano was identified by a member of the Hartford Police Fugitive Task Force. The detective gave chase after Serrano exited a vehicle in Hartford and fled on foot.

Serrano is charged with arson, burglary, criminal mischief and reckless endangerment all in the first degree. He was held in lieu of $1 million bail and is due in court Wednesday.
