Newington Obituary: Amy Carragher

Amy Carragher passed away on May 5, 2016. She was the daughter of the late Jack and Kathleen Carragher.

Amy grew up in Newington and worked for the Connecticut Department of Public Health for many years.

She leaves her cherished and loving daughter Kathleen Ann (Kit) Kerekes of Wethersfield.

Amy was a loyal and loving mother, sister, cousin, and friend. Memorial Day weekend will not be the same at Hammonasset without Amy joining her camping family. She also loved her summer vacations at Misquamicut. She will be sorely missed by all who loved her.

Besides Kit, Amy is survived by her brothers and their wives, John and Lucy, Stephen and Debra, Kevin and Laura and Michael and Lilly. Amy loved her family, especially her nephews, niece and all of her adored cousins. Amy also leaves her uncle, Bob Carragher and his wife Barbara and her aunt, Mary Ann Steadman and her husband, Ken.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held at Church of the Holy Spirit, 183 Church Street, Newington at 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday, May 10th. Friends are asked to go directly to the church. Burial will be at West Meadow Cemetery, Newington. Family and friends may call on Monday, May 9th from 5-8 pm. at Newington Memorial Funeral Home, 20 Bonair Ave., Newington.
