
Antoinette (Giangrave) Paparella, 94, of South Windsor formerly of Newington, beloved wife of the late Anthony Paparella died peacefully on Monday December 25, 2017 at Hartford Hospital.
Antoinette was born on September 11, 1923 in Hartford, daughter of the late Paul and Josephine (Gionfriddo) Giangrave. She grew up in Hartford and was a graduate of Hartford High School with the Class of 1941. She was married to the love of her life, Anthony Paparella on June 24, 1950 and they lived in Newington for their whole marriage.
She worked as a nursing unit secretary at Hartford Hospital for many years. She was a past member of Holy Spirit Church in Newington and was a current member of St. Margaret Mary Church in South Windsor. Antoinette was a volunteer at the Library and Senior Center in both Newington & South Windsor, the Hospital for Special Care, and she was a reader at the elementary schools. A kind, caring, loving and devoted mother, sister, grandmother, great grandmother friend she will be greatly missed.

She leaves her children, Michael Paparella and his wife Maryanne of Mint Hill, NC, and their children, Carrie and Dale Prince, Brian, and Michael Jr., Joanne Coralli and her husband Jeffrey of South Windsor and their children, Matthew, Anthony, and Justin, and Lucille Ringrose and her husband Daniel of Wethersfield and their children, Daniel Jr., and Joseph; her brother, Paul Giangrave of Newington; and her great grandson, Aiden Prince. She was predeceased by her siblings, Joseph Giangrave, Pauline Giangrave, and Anne Giangrave.
Family and friends may gather on Friday, December 29, 2017, 9 a.m., at the Samsel & Carmon Funeral Home, 419 Buckland Rd., South Windsor; followed by a Mass of Christian Burial, 10 a.m., at St. Margaret Mary Church in South Windsor. Burial will follow at Mount Saint Benedict Cemetery in Bloomfield. Her family will receive friends on Thursday, December 28, 2017, from 5-7 p.m., at the funeral home.
