
Arthur William Field, 72, of Newington, beloved husband of Diane (Baczewski) Field, died peacefully on Wednesday, October 25, 2017.
Born in New Britain on September 18, 1945, he was the loving son of the late Arthur and Jean (Sokolowski) Field. He attended St. Mary School in New Britain, graduated from Newington High School and was an alumnus of Riverside College in California.
Art proudly served his country in the U.S. Army in Vietnam and received several medals. Returning to civilian life, Art was a sheet metal worker and a member of Local 40. He remained active with the union, travelling throughout the country on jobs and gained many long-lasting friends throughout his career.

Upon retiring, he enjoyed time with his local buddies designing metal pieces for holiday and outdoor use. Art was also a member of the Elks Club, Amber Club and VFW Post 511 in New Britain. He was a wonderful husband, brother, uncle and friend who will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved him.
In addition to his wife, Art is survived by his sister, Beverly F. Pierz and her husband, Joseph; his in-laws: Joseph and Jayne Baczewski, Michael Baczewski and Maryann and David Mazulis and several nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to call on Sunday, October 29th from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the Newington Memorial Funeral Home, 20 Bonair Ave., Newington. Funeral services will begin on Monday, October 30th at 8:45 A.M. from the Newington Memorial Funeral Home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. at The Church of the Holy Spirit, Newington. In recognition of Art's dedication and service to his country, Military Honors will be rendered at the Church, immediately following the Mass. Art will be laid to rest privately in West Meadow Cemetery, Newington.
