Newington Obituary: Dennis O'Neil, 78

Dennis E. O'Neil, 78, of Newington died on Tuesday, March 6, 2018. He was the beloved husband of the late Jeanette (Gilbert) O'Neil.

Born in Hartford, he lived in West Hartford before moving to Newington in 1962 and attended Emmanuel Baptist Church, Newington. Mr. O'Neil served in the U.S. Marine Corps. He owned and operated Freedom Fence Co., Newington for many years and was a member of the Blue Knights and the N.R.A.

Survivors include his children: Diane J. Tillotson of Newington, Jay Garvey of Mystic, Paul O'Neil and his wife Rosanne of Torrington, Dennis O'Neil and his wife Kara of East Lake, FL, Eric O'Neil of Newington, his six grandchildren: Frank, Linda Beth, Christopher, Shawna, Ashley, Austin and his two great grandchildren Frank and Erin.

Family and friends are invited to call on Friday from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Newington Memorial Funeral Home, 20 Bonair Ave., Newington. His funeral service and burial, in Center Cemetery, will be private.
