Newington Obituary: Dorothy Brousseau, 84

Condolences to her family and friends.

Dorothy (Krawczyk) Brousseau, 84, died peacefully to join her husband on Christmas Day, December 25, 2016. She was the beloved wife of the late John J. Brousseau.

Born in New Britain, daughter of the late Joseph and Anna (Murach) Krawczyk, she was a longtime Newington resident and was a member of the Church of the Holy Spirit. Mrs. Brousseau retired from the State of CT Dept. of Alcohol and Drug Abuse after many years of employment.

She was active in the Church of the Holy Spirit as a member and past president of the Ladies Guild, as an altar server, and as a member of the church choir. She sang with the Sweet Adelines and was a member of the Swinging Singing Seniors of the Newington Senior Center. She and John traveled extensively throughout the U.S. and also vacationed abroad.

A loving and devoted mother, grandmother and great grandmother, she leaves her son Stephen Brousseau and his wife Kathleen of Tolland, her daughter Kathleen Kormos and her husband Steven of Berlin, and her daughter-in-law Susan Brousseau of Berlin; 15 grandchildren, Tamie Wasik and Daniel Kormos, Colleen Desai, Raymond Grogan, Laura Torres, Kristen Thibault, Melissa Brousseau, Jason Vendrillo, Shannon Fairclough, Hilary Kizilski, Heather Poutouves, Jessica Morello, Jaclyn, Jamie and Jenna Brousseau; and 16 great grandchildren. She also leaves her brother Kenneth Krawczyk of Southington, and several nieces and nephews. She was pre-deceased by her son Thomas Brousseau and her granddaughter Elizabeth Bilodeau.

Relatives and friends are invited to call Wednesday, Dec. 28 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the Newington Memorial Funeral Home, 20 Bonair Ave., Newington, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30 a.m. at the Church of the Holy Spirit, Newington. She will be laid to rest in West Meadow Cemetery.
