Newington Obituary: Edmund Bialaski, 87

Condolences to his family and friends.

Edmund Bialaski, 87, of Newington, died on October 18, 2017.

Ed was born on October 31, 1929 in Wethersfield, son of the late Nicholas and Anna Bialaski. Ed resided in Newington since 1958. He earned his BSEE degree at UConn in 1952. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict from 1952 to 1954.

He was employed by North East Utilities for seventeen years; and was employed by United Technologies for twenty-three years. His position at UTC involved him in extensive travel around the world, including Europe, South America, Japan, China, Australia and Africa.

Ed was a communicant of St. Mary Church and served his parish as usher and greeter for many years. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, 4th degree, St. Mary Men's Club and IEEE.

Ed is survived by his wife, Claire, son and daughter-in-law, Brien and Patti Bialaski, grandchildren, Andrea Dew and her husband Mike, Dr. Eric Bialaski and his wife Dr. Emily Bialaski, and Christine McKenna and her husband Paul, and great grandchildren, Autumn, Charlotte, Benjamin, Emma, Charlie and Paul Joseph. He also leaves his sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Alice and Roger Page, and many beloved nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will begin on Monday, Oct. 23rd at 9:00 a.m. at the Newington Memorial Funeral Home, 20 Bonair Ave., Newington, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary's Church, Newington. Burial will follow with military honors at West Meadow Cemetery, Newington. Ed's family will receive relatives and friends at the funeral home on Sunday from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association, 2080 Silas Deane Highway, 2nd Floor, Rocky Hill, CT 06067.
