Newington Obituary: Edward Kaminsky, Sr., 95

Condolences to his family and friends.

Edward J. Kaminsky, Sr., 95, of Newington, died on Saturday, December 16, 2017.

Born in New Britain, son of the late John and Mary (Zera) Kaminsky, he was a longtime Newington resident and parishioner of the Church of the Holy Spirit. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and was awarded the EAME Campaign Medal, the World War II Victory Medal, the American Campaign and the Good Conduct Medal.

For many years, Ed was co-owner of Pease Industrial Products. He loved to golf and stay in good health by walking exactly 4 miles every day in his neighborhood and also with his buddies at the mall. He was living independently up until shortly before his passing.

Ed was a true family man. His grandchildren were his world and he never missed a birthday, graduation or wedding.

A loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather and brother, he leaves his children: Lucille Perzan, Diana Gardner and Edward J. Kaminsky, Jr. and wife, Kathi; his sister, Dorothy Wallette; his grandchildren: Scott and Shawn Perzan, William and Kim Gardner and Michael, Julianne and Jennifer Kaminsky and 11 great-grandchildren. Ed was predeceased by his wife, Leocadia "Lucy" (Malodziejko) Kaminsky.

There are no calling hours. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, December 20 at 10:00 a.m. at the Church of the Holy Spirit, Newington followed by interment with Military Honors at West Meadow Cemetery, Newington.
