Newington Obituary: Ernest Bouchard, 90

Ernest C. Bouchard, 90, passed away peacefully at the Hebrew Home in West Hartford on Thursday, June 29, 2017.

Born in Fort Kent, ME on August 12, 1926, he was the son of the late Onezime & Azilda (Dubois) Bouchard. As a veteran of WWII, he served our country in the United States Army. Prior to retirement, he was employed as a machinist at Emhart, and was also employed with Sears in West Hartford. He had been a longtime Newington resident, a communicant of St. Mary's Church and a 4th Degree member of the Knights of Columbus.

Ernest was predeceased by his beloved wife Rita (Pelletier) Bouchard, a son Roy, and six siblings. Left to honor and cherish his memory are his children, Dr. Rheal Bouchard and his wife Suzanne of East Granby, Gary Bouchard and his wife Guilia & Gail Holmes and her husband David, all of Newington, his siblings Joseph (Pat) of Mobile, AL, Herman (Susan) of Melbourne, FL Reginald of Greene, ME, Claudine Pelletier of Ft. Kent, ME, Gilmay Bouchard of So. Windsor, Jeanette Boucher (Jim) of St. David, ME, and grandchildren Shane, Alana, Justin, Jason, Emily Bouchard, and Krista, Scott & Erica Yaglowski.

His life and funeral will be celebrated on Monday, July 3, at 9:00 AM from Duksa Family Funeral Homes at Newington Memorial, 20 Bonair Ave, Newington, with a 10:00 AM Liturgy of Christian Burial at St. Mary's Church. Rites of Committal will follow the Mass at West Meadow Cemetery. Relatives and friends are welcome to call for visitation on Sunday from 4:00 until 7:00 PM at Newington Memorial.
