Newington Obituary: Esperanza Lavorata, 82

Esperanza "Hope" Lavorata, 82, of Newington, formerly of Bronx, NY, passed away on Sunday, March, 26, 2017 with her family by her side. She was the beloved wife of the late Robert V. Lavorata, who predeceased her in 1985.

Born in NY, daughter of the late Miguel and Juanita (Sosa) Paredes, she was a lifelong resident of the Bronx, until a year and a half ago, when she moved to Newington. She was a member of St. Benedict's Church in NY. Hope was always very independent and self-sufficient, and everyone who knew her appreciated her honesty. She loved to dance, read and go shopping.

A loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother, she leaves her three children, Robert Lavorata and his wife Cindy of TX, Christopher Lavorata and his wife Gloria of Newington, and her daughter Debbie Lavorata of NY, six grandchildren, Dana, Desiree, Lisa, Steven, Joseph, and Laura, her great granddaughter, Angelisa, and two step-grandchildren, Carmelo and Gloria. She also leaves her brother, Bill Paredes and his wife Maryann, of TX. She also leaves her close friends, Jay Castro and his sister Anette Aprea, Rosemary Russo and Margie.

Her funeral service will begin on Saturday, April 1st, at 9:00 a.m. at the Newington Memorial Funeral Home, 20 Bonair Ave., Newington, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary's Church, Newington. Burial will be private. Relatives and friends are invited to call on Friday from 3:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Newington Memorial.
