Newington Obituary: Eugene Kopycinski, 80

Eugene R. Kopycinski, 80, of Newington, husband of Elizabeth (David) Kopycinski, passed away Thursday (June 23, 2016) at his home.

A New Britain native and former resident, he lived in Newington since 1993. A graduate of New Britain High School, class of 1953, Gene worked at the former Natpac Frozen Food Company in Cheshire for over 20 years and later at Allied Printing in Manchester for 8 years, retiring in 2001. He was a member of the Church of Christ, Congregational in Newington.

Besides his wife Elizabeth, he leaves two sons, Jeffrey Kopycinski and his wife Grace of Kensington; and Bruce Kopycinski and his wife Gayle of New Britain; a brother, Edward Kopycinski of Newington; five grandchildren, Erica Debboli and her husband Michael of Waterford; Krista David of Newington; Michael David and Sarah Kopycinski all of New Britain; two great granddaughters, Alyssa and Alexandra; two brother-in-laws, Joseph Gagnon of Newington and Jack David of East Hampton; several nieces and nephews. Gene was predeceased by two sisters, Florence Gagnon and Mary Aubin.

Funeral services are Wednesday evening 7 PM at Carlson Funeral Home, 45 Franklin Square, New Britain. Calling hours are Wednesday from 5 pm until the time of the service at 7pm. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
