
H. Alfreda (Czelazewicz) Mocarsky, 85, of Newington, passed away on Tuesday, April 26, 2016.
Born in Newington, daughter of the late Frank and Mary (Malinowski) Czelazewicz, she lived in Wethersfield for over 35 years prior to returning to Newington in 2001. Alfreda was a member at St. Mary's Church in Newington. In her early years, she was a model for department stores in the Hartford Area as well as had the privilege to pave the way as one of the first female EMTs. Above all things, she loved spending time with her family.
A loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother, she leaves her daughter, Donna Van Dam of Newington, her four grandchildren, Kyle and Evan Van Dam of Newington, Elizabeth Macchi and her husband Frank of Wethersfield, and her special granddaughter, Jessica Acey of Newington, and two great grandchildren, Andrew and Nathan Macchi. She also leaves her son-in-law, John Acey of Newington. She was predeceased by her daughter, Geri Acey, her sister Aldona Czelazewicz, and her son-in-law, Rick Van Dam.

Her family wishes to thank the staff at Bel-Air Manor in Newington for their care and compassion.
Her funeral service will begin on Monday, May 2nd, at 9:00 a.m. at Newington Memorial Funeral Home, 20 Bonair Ave., Newington, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary's Church. She will be laid to rest in West Meadow Cemetery. Relatives and friends are invited to call on Sunday, from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. at Newington Memorial.
