Newington Obituary: John Digertt, Sr., 91

John C. Digertt, Sr., 91, of Newington, passed away on Thursday, March 23, 2017 at Hartford Hospital. He was the beloved husband of Lucille (DeVito) Digertt for 65 years.

Born in Hartford, son of the late Michael and Bronislawa (Makula) Digertt, he was a Newington resident for the past 23 years. John retired as Supervisor of Building and Maintenance with the City of Hartford after 40 years of employment. Above all, he was a dedicated family man and loved spending time with his grandchildren.

Along with his wife, he leaves his three children, Sharon Garrard of Newington, Sandy Lechkun and her husband Robert of Ellington, John Digertt and his wife Holly of Middlefield, six grandchildren, Todd and Kelsey Garrard, Briana and Matthew Lechkun, John Digertt and Jacqueline Agramonte and her husband Nicholas, and his great grandson Nicholas Agramonte, Jr. He was predeceased by his son-in-law, John Garrard.

His family would like to express their gratitude to the staff at Hartford Hospital's 11th Floor ICU for their care and compassion.

Funeral services for John will be private. He will be laid to rest in West Meadow Cemetery, Newington.
