"But I would not be convicted by a jury of my peers, still crazy after all these years…"
John Luzzi, 75, of West Hartford, died peacefully, with his oldest daughter by his side, Thursday, July 7, 2016.
Born March 5, 1941 in Hartford, son of the late Joseph and Nancy Luzzi, John was a graduate of Conard High School and Norwich University. Upon his honorable discharge from the Army, John joined J.F. Luzzi and Sons and worked as a general contactor for many years. He was also co-owner of the Capitol Fish House Restaurant with his dear friend and partner in crime, Brian O'Meara.
John was happiest when he was sailing the open seas. Later in life, John retired to Newington, where his greatest pastime was eating breakfast at Makris Diner and talking politics with Art Woznicki, a devoted friend who often helped care for John when he was sick. Known as "Bumpy" to his eight grandchildren, he will always be remembered for bringing donuts in the morning and making everybody laugh with his striking wit and incredible sense of humor.
