
John R. Rogorzenski, 80, of Newington died peacefully and suddenly on Tuesday, May 3, 2016 at home. He was the beloved husband of Patricia (Whitehead) Rogorzenski, his high school sweetheart, for the last 60 years.
Born in Hartford, son of the late John and Sophie (Bialy) Rogorzenski, he was a lifelong Newington resident and a member of Grace Episcopal Church. John graduated from Newington High School, class of '54, served in the U.S. Army and worked at National Cigar Corp., South Windsor for 50 years. He coached little league and was a member and past-president of the Polish American Club, Newington.
Besides his wife, he leaves two sons and daughters-in-law: John and Heather Rogorzenski of Barnstable, MA, James and Lynn Rogorzenski of West Hartford, his daughter and son-in-law Lisa and Richard Franklin of Harwich, MA, his sister and brother-in-law Barbara and J. Victor Blain of Newington, seven grandchildren: Allison, Katherine, Eric, Callie, Emma, Erin and Ryan, his nieces and nephew: Denise Drummond, Deb Blain, Douglas Blain and many cousins.

John will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend, with a big heart and sharing his love through his "famous" chocolate chip cookies.
His funeral service will be held on Saturday, 11:00 a.m., at Grace Episcopal Church, 124 Maple Hill Ave., Newington. He will be laid to rest in West Meadow Cemetery, Newington. Calling hours will be held on Friday from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Newington Memorial Funeral Home, 20 Bonair Ave., Newington.
