Newington Obituary: Lorraine Dunn, 91

Lorraine (Oppelt) Dunn, 91, of Newington, passed away on Monday, December 18, 2017. She was the beloved wife of the late Richard C. Dunn, Sr.

Born in Hartford, daughter of William and Albertine (Garand) Oppelt, she was a longtime resident of Newington and a member of St. Mary's Church and the Newington/Wethersfield Women's Club. Lorraine retired from the Town of Newington School System after many years of employment.

A devoted mother, grandmother and great grandmother, she leaves her four children, Richard C. Dunn, Jr. and his wife Madeline of Rocky Hill, Kenneth Dunn and his wife Susan of Mashpee, MA, Nancy Keehner and her husband William of Rocky Hill, and Beverly Proulx of Newington, her grandchildren, Christine Carter and her husband Michael of Cumberland, RI, Megan Dunn of South Boston, MA, Scott and Sarah Keehner of Meriden, Elizabeth Gomez and her husband Milton of Macungie, PA, Eric Proulx and his wife Kaitlyn of Newington, Carolyn Proulx and fiancé Jason McConnell of Cheshire, and Sarah Proulx of Newington and eight great grandchildren. She also leaves her sister Gloria Bomba of Berlin, sister-in-law, Ann Whitford and her husband Howard of Newington, and many nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, Dec. 27th, at 10:00 a.m. at St Mary's Church, 626 Willard Ave., Newington. Burial will follow with her husband in West Meadow Cemetery, Newington.
