Newington Obituary: Luciano Perez, 59

Condolences to his family and friends.

With great sadness we mourn the sudden passing of Luciano "Chano" Perez, loving father, son, brother, uncle and friend on June 2, 2016.

Born in Yabucoa, Puerto Rico on October 26, 1956, he was the son of Perfecta Sanchez and the late Luis E. Perez. In his youth, Chano participated in semi-pro boxing with his brother Angel, their father proudly attending all their matches. He spent his free time with his loving son Jonathan, watching movies, riding bumper cars and go-carts. He will be especially remembered for his famous rice and beans. Chano loved listening and dancing to old salsa music, adding to his hat collection, customizing his car and watching boxing with his father-in-law Bert. He was a loyal employee of 37 years with Trinity Hill Health Care in Hartford.

Besides his mother Perfecta, Chano is survived by his son Jonathan, former wife and close friend Lisa, brothers Higinio "Jimmy", Mariano and wife Noemi, Francisco "Paquito", Victor, Ediberto and wife Yessenia, sisters Norma and husband Juan, Adelina and husband Julio, and Marisol, his father-in-law and friend, Bert Levesque, several loving brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law and many nieces and nephews.
