Newington Obituary: Mary Tedesco, 88

Mary A. (Galligan) Tedesco, 88, of Newington, passed away on Wednesday, November 1, 2017 at her home. She was the beloved wife of the late Daniel Tedesco, Sr.

Born in Hartford, daughter of the late John and Elizabeth (Cassidy) Galligan, she lived in Hartford prior to becoming a Newington resident in 1956. She was employed by Travelers Insurance Co. for 20 years prior to her retirement in 1992. Mary loved cooking Christmas dinner for her family and traveling to Florida or just spending time at home.

A loving mother she leaves her son Mark Tedesco of Newington. She also leaves her sister, Beatrice Reilly of Plainville, many nieces and nephews, including her special niece Patti, and two grandchildren. She was predeceased by her son Daniel Tedesco, Jr., her daughter Mary Beth Tedesco, her brother Edward and her sisters, Catherine, Elizabeth and Josephine.

The family wishes to thank Hartford Healthcare Hospice nurses for their care and compassion.

Relatives and friends are invited to call on Thursday, Nov. 9th, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Newington Memorial Funeral Home, 20 Bonair Ave., Newington. Her funeral service and burial will be private.
