Newington Obituary: Michael Carone, 61

Condolences to his family and friends.

Michael A. Carone, 61, of Newington, beloved husband of Ann (Nargi) Carone, was granted eternal rest March 13, 2017, with his wife and children by his side.

Michael was born in Hartford on August 17, 1955 to the late John and Philomena (Cardello) Carone. Michael was raised in Hartford, attended Bulkeley High School. He was active in the softball and flag football leagues in Hartford, in which he played alongside family and friends. Once married in 1980, he moved to Wethersfield and then to Newington in 1987, where he and Ann raised their family.

Michael was a hard-worker, devoted husband and father. He was self-employed through Nardi’s Bakery for eleven years, where he was known as “Mike the bread man.” Then he worked for Sil/Carr Construction Co. through the Connecticut Laborers Union Local 230. He was known for his generosity and putting others first. His capacity for love of family and friends was immense and he was loved by all.

Besides his high school sweetheart of 47 years, he leaves a son, Michael Anthony Carone of Hartford; a daughter, Marissa Ann Carone of Newington; a sister, Lucille Malavenda of Meriden; a brother, James Carone and wife Cindy of Niantic; a sister-in-law, Rosemary and husband Harold Rivers of Newington; a brother-in-law, Ralph Nargi of Windsor Locks; godson, Marc Tenore of Wethersfield; goddaughter, Alyssa Reis of Newington; as well as many nieces, nephews and friends. He was predeceased by his sister, Patricia (Carone) Parente; brothers, John (Sonny) Carone and Ronald Carone; brother-in-law, Peter Malavenda and nephews, Scott Carone and Peter Malavenda, Jr.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday (March 18) at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary’s Church, 505 Willard Ave., Newington. Everyone is asked to please go directly to the church. Entombment will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Hartford. There are no calling hours.
