Newington Obituary: Patricia Desautels, 92

Patricia (Mathieu) Desautels, 92, of Hartford, beloved wife of the late Donald J. Desautels, died Thursday, November 10, 2016.

Born in Killingly, a daughter of the late Edgar and Sarah (Mullen) Mathieu, and resided in the greater Hartford area for many years. Patricia was retired from the Board of Education, City of Hartford, after 29 years of service as a paraprofessional and was a member of St. Mary's Church, Newington. She was an avid NY Yankees fan and loved to do word puzzles and scrambles.

Patricia is survived by her children Diane Lackner, of Hartford, Roberta Gline and her husband Douglas, of Harrisville, NH, Donald J. Desautels, Jr. and his wife Cheryl, of Niantic, Richard O. Desautels and his wife Barbara, of Bradenton, FL and James E. Desautels and his wife Rosanne, of Enfield, her 10 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother Joseph Mathieu, and sisters Roberta Cannon, Pauline Lefevre, and Agnes Wesh.

Patricia's funeral service will be held on Friday at 9:30 a.m. from the Fisette-Batzner Funeral Home at Newington Memorial, 20 Bonair Ave., Newington, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary's Church, 626 Willard Ave., Newington. Interment will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Hartford. Relatives and friends may call on Thursday from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Fisette-Batzner.
