Newington Obituary: Peter Szymecki, 69

Peter (Piotr) Szymecki, 69, of Newington died unexpectedly on Monday, November 7, 2016.

He was born in Stok, Poland, lived in Newington for 23 years and was a member of Holy Cross Church in New Britain. Peter was an exceptional man who put a smile on everybody's face and made everyone feel special. He was gentle, kind and a loving husband, father and grandfather, who enjoyed spending time with his dear friends. He loved so many things including the mountains, music, reading, traveling and sports (especially soccer.) Most importantly, he loved his family more than words could ever express.

He is survived by his devoted wife, Krystyna (Szubelak) Szymecki and their beloved children with their spouses and family, Katarzyna and Tomasz Kazmierczak of New Britain; Maciek and Pamela Szymecki of Wethersfield. He leaves six loving grandchildren, who were his pride and joy: Maya, Kuba, Lukas, Alexis, Olivia and Krysta. Their lives will never be the same without him.

Funeral services will be on Saturday, November 12, 2016 at 9:00 am from the New Britain Memorial-Donald D. Sagarino Funeral Home, 444 Farmington Ave. New Britain, followed by the funeral liturgy at 10:00 AM at Holy Cross Church, New Britain. Burial will be at the Sacred Heart Cemetery. Calling hours will be on Friday, November 11th from 5 to 8:00 pm at the funeral home. Directions: I-84 take a right at the exit 37, funeral home is 1 1 /2 miles on your right.
